Do you have a pair of sneaker that you don’t
want to wear it anymore? You can wear it again with a completely new
look by having a diy studded sneaker project at home! Studded sneakers
have been on trend for a while and these are a pair of desirable shoes
especially for the teens. Now if you want to be trendy enough, having a
pair of studded sneakers will become a must for you.
If you have already checked these shoes on online stores, you will
find out that they are pretty expensive comparing to the cost you will
need to make it at home. All you are going to need is patience and a
little amount of time to make a wonderful pair of diy studded sneakers
by yourself.
At first, you will need a perfect pair of sneakers on which you are
going to d this project. You can buy a new pair to do this project if
you are willing to or you can do it on your existing pair of sneakers to
experiment the result.
The color of the sneaker depends on you. You can choose any pattern
or solid colors for your sneakers. Though the details of the stud
embellishment will be clear enough on solid colors but you can still
work on pattered ones where you have to choose the studs carefully.
Now when you are ready with your pair of sneakers, you will need few
more materials. If you are thinking about how to make each hole on this
thick layer of your sneakers, then you are wrong here. Hand piercing
each hole would be a very time consuming process.
So what you can do is attach the studs with glue to the surface of
your sneakers. You will need E6000 adhesive, a popsicle stick or a
disposable container, toothpicks and 150-200 brass cone spikes. You will
find different varieties in studs and you can select the design that
you like and which will perfectly match with your sneakers.
You can also choose different colors where golden ones are used in
this project. Before you start attaching the studs, set up a pattern by
placing the studs on your sneakers. This will help you to make any
changes if you want before you start gluing the studs.
Now if you are ready with the pattern, you can start the process by
squeezing a small amount of the glue into a popsicle stick or a
disposable container. Take minimum amount of glue considering the amount
you are going to need for each studs. Dispensing more of the glue will
make it dry too quickly. Use the tip of a toothpick to apply the glue
onto the back of a stud.
Press the stud on the sneaker and hold it in that place for few
seconds. Start this application process from a baseline corner and work
up in horizontal lines. When you are done with the front portion, you
can add some on the back of the sneakers. Adding some studs on the heel
cap will really make it a complete pair so start adding the glue
horizontally on the heel cap. Let the shoes dry for overnight and you
can try them on the next day.
So this is how you can make your pair of simple sneakers to stylish
and trendy studded sneakers. When are you making your diy studded
sneakers?
