APC Issues Red Card To Jonathan, As Oni Marks 60th Birthday

Click for Full Image SizeTHE national leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Saturday told President Jonathan to start preparing his hand over note, as his Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will be rejected by Nigerians in next year's general election.
The national chairman of APC, Chief John Oyegun and the party's national vice chairman (southwest) and former governor of Ekiti State, Chief Segun Oni, said 2015 is God's appointed time for the PDP to be defeated at the presidential and other elections.
They made the statement in Ifaki Ekiti in Ido/Osi Local Government Area of the state during the 60th birthday of Oni.
Oni, during the birthday service held at the Methodist Church, Ifaki Ekiti, praised Fayose for restoring his privileges as former governor, describing the gesture as a rare show of brotherliness.
Those at the event included: Governor Fayose; ex-governors Niyi Adebayo, Kayode Fayemi and wife, Erelu Bisi Fayemi; former deputy governors, Modupe Adelabu, Abiodun Aluko; former acting governor, Tope Ademiluyi; Speaker, Ekiti House of Assembly, Adewale Omirin; former Chief of Staff to Oni, Segun Ilori, among others.
Oyegun, who described the PDP under Jonathan as a colossal waste to the country, said nothing can be done to rescue the PDP's ship from sinking in 2015.
Oyegun said: 'APC is a party whose time has come. APC is a party with welfare and people-oriented programmes. But let me say here that youth employment will be priority on our agenda, apart from the fact that we will do everything possible to protect the lives of Nigerian citizens. Whatever it will take us to end insurgency; we are going to do it. We are not going to steal public money the way the PDP is doing.
'Former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo, Umaru Musa Yar'Adua and President Jonathan expended over 68 billion dollars on power, but nothing was realised in terms of power generation.'
Oyegun described Oni as a fantastic man, who has contributed immensely to the development of Ekiti State.
Buttressing the position canvassed by Oyegun, Oni said: 'It is not an easy thing for political parties to sacrifice their privileges and come together to form th APC. So, preparation for a change in 2015 does not start today. It has been planned for and nothing can change it. God Himself has ordained the APC to rule in 2015. This is a finger of God, and it is happening like a miracle because God Himself is involved in the project.'
He said the party has demonstrated its sincerity to win the presidential race by embracing free and fair primaries at all levels, saying the party will never impose candidates that are against the wishes of the populace. The Guardian
